About me

I’m Mary, a qualified languages teacher with 3 years of recent classroom experience at a top London secondary school, and now a private tutor.

 

I hold a First-Class degree in French, Spanish and Portuguese from the University of Exeter, a PGCE, a TESOL qualification and an enhanced DBS.

My students consistently achieve excellent results — last year my International Baccalaureate Spanish class average was 6.6 out of 7, well above the global average. I love helping learners build confidence, fluency and exam technique.

I offer friendly, personalised tutoring either in person (in your home in Stroud, Gloucestershire) or online in:

• French (Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 and GCSE )

• Spanish (Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, GCSE and IB Diploma)

• English as a Second Language

• Strengthening grammar (e.g. mastering key tenses)

• Running a mock speaking exam with detailed feedback

• Homework help when you need a boost

• Going over recent schoolwork to consolidate understanding

Rates

• First 15-minute intro call: Free

• Key Stage 2: £30/hour

• Key Stage 3 and GCSE: £40/hour

• IB Diploma: £50/hour

• English conversation: £30/hour

• Have a friend join too (if in person): +50% per extra student 

• +£3 premium for in-person sessions
